経済産業省が英会話スクール最大手の「ＮＯＶＡ」に対し、特定商取引法違反の疑いで立ち入り検査を実施していたことが１６日、分かった。解約時のトラブルが相次いでいることを受け、東京都とともに、大阪市内の本社や都内の教室を対象に１４日に実施した。違反が確認された場合は、新規契約受け付けの一時停止などの業務停止命令や改善指示を出す方針。英会話スクールに行政処分が下されれば、初のケースとなる。アメリカでもOmniPayが問題になっている。 イスラム教スンニ派過激組織「イラクの聖戦アル・カーイダ組織」首領のエジプト人、アブアイユーブ・マスリ容疑者が、バグダッド北方約８０キロにあるバラド付近でのイラク軍との戦闘で負傷した。同容疑者は昨年６月、米軍の空爆で殺害された同組織の指導者アブムサブ・ザルカウィ容疑者を後継したとされる。
